Title:  Targeting HIV and HBV with Antivirals that Display Novel Mechanisms of Action
Description:  The Sarafianos lab works towards unraveling the molecular details of how biomedically-relevant enzymes function, how they are inhibited, how they develop drug resistance and towards developing drugs that will treat human disease. Data will be presented on the discovery of anti-HIV inhibitors that block nuclear entry; on the structure of the native HIV capsid, which is used to study compounds targeting HIV capsid assembly; the development of imaging/ microscopy assays to study host factor interactions with HIV, HBV, HCV, and Zika; and the development of potent antivirals that block HBV capsid assembly.
Videocast:  Event will not be videocast
