Title:  Humanized Immune System Models for Oncology Drug Discovery & Development, Next Generation NOG Mice in Precision Research
Description:  The development of animal models capable of mimicking human immune responses is crucial to study the pathophysiology of disease and to generate new therapeutic methodologies. While significant advances in immunology modeling have been made utilizing the super immune-deficient CIEA NOG mouse®, the full application of engrafted human immune models depends upon overcoming some cross-species differences. This includes the impaired development of immune sub-lineages dependent on human cytokine signals in conventional immune system engrafted mice. In partnership with the Central Institute for Experimental Animals (CIEA), Taconic Biosciences has developed a variety of next generation immune deficient NOG mice that model diverse mechanistic functions of human immunity.  This presentation will focus on the current state of immune system engraftment and recent advances in modeling human immunity in immuno-oncology applications.
