Description:  Without an FDA approved malaria vaccine and the rapid development of antimalarial drug resistance, the DOD must remain vigilant to develop the pharmaceutical countermeasures to prevent malaria in deployed US forces. As the premier biomedical laboratory for the DOD, WRAIR has a long successful history in the development of most antimalarial drugs in use today. Furthermore, WRAIR is an essential partner in the development of the world's first malaria vaccine. FREE! Open to the public. No RSVP required.
