Title:  Experimental Design for Biologists - Understand Basic Statistical Concepts and Why They Matter
Description:  Enjoy a complimentary lunch while we introduce basic statistical concepts needed for efficient design and analysis of today's NGS, microarray, and other genomics-based studies. Specifically, attendees will learn how to perform designs to protect against confounding biological conditions with technical artefacts, how to use Generalized Linear Models (GLMs) to reduce noise and reliably identify differentially expressed genes, microRNAs, and other measurements.
This seminar is meant to help biologists gain a basic understanding of statistical concepts to allow them to effectively analyze data from a variety of different types of experiments in order to answer all of the biological questions they have about the different conditions in their experiment.
